Arts Night

Anna June's school held Arts Night on Thursday, and the theme was "Celebrating America Through the Arts." The kids wore red, white and blue. They sang patriotic songs, recited poems, and performed dances. It was a lovely program.

Afterwards, I tried to get a picture of AJ and her friend Erica, who was also in a sailor dress. AJ didn't cooperate, and we got these faces.

I guess I shouldn't try when she's hot, tired and hungry, but I couldn't resist.

WHOO! Talk about 'sour pusses'. Nevertheless, she looks cute in her sailor dress! Was that a bear to iron? Fits her well! ( thank you Erica) I also like her hair in these pics, w/ her big bow ! Perfect1

p.s. Did Erica also have a Sailor HAT? TOO CUTE!

I did iron it, although I ironed it before the date Arts Night was originally scheduled (and then postponed because of the threat of bad weather). So it's been a while and I don't remember. I am glad it fits!

I also liked her big hairbow - thanks Granny. The saying down here is "The bigger the bow, the better the mom." We had fun watching her headband slip back and forth through the performance.

Erica did have a sailor hat. So precious. Her mom has such fun dressing her.

"The bigger the bow , the better the Mom"-?????????????????
Did someone in Mountainbrook start that silly saying?

AND, I don't think I sent that headband. Don't recall it at all. Sorry.

AND , those pictures get funnier every time I look at them !She looks SOOOOOOO mad!!!

No, Mountain Brook didn't make up that saying - it's just a funny saying, like "The higher the hair, the closer to God." I swear I'm not making this up. See link here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/98136908/the-bigger-the-bow-the-better-the-momma

And sorry if you don't remember the headband. I have never, ever bought AJ a headband. She has 50+ and as far as I can tell, they are all from you, one way or the other. :)
