Professional Pictures

As promised, here is a link to Anna June's new batch of professional photos. They're amazing. Ruth does a great job. If you need photography in Birmingham - hire her!!!

In other Anna June news, we went for a weigh-in about a week ago and she was 15 pounds and 8 ounces. The cereal and fruit seem to agree with her. We started pears last night - I'm not sure if she likes those as well as bananas and apples, but she ate all I gave her.

Also, on Friday, AJ got her second tooth! It is coming in really well now. I hope to capture it on film soon.

I hope all of you are doing well. If you've emailed me or called and I haven't responded, please don't take it personally. I've been busier than ever at work and at home. I hope to have time to catch up soon.

We've had a very busy couple of weeks.

Most importantly, Anna June is cutting her first tooth. On Sunday, she put my finger in her mouth like she's been doing (it seems like FOREVER since she started teething!) and I felt a tiny bump. Later in the week, I felt it again and it is sharp! I have showed it off to a few folks...it will get more and more clear as the days go by - I can't wait to get a picture.

Anna June learned to suck her toes. She also learned how to flip from her back to her stomach. Now she just twists, turns and flips whenever she wants.

She has become really interested in our dog, Radar. She smiles when she sees him, and tries to pet him whenever she can. He, so far, is being sweet to her, but he growled at her when he thought she was trying to kick him. She wasn't kicking him - she was just kicking! Poor Radar just got back from the vet with an infected mosquito bite. He's OK but he doesn't like medicine!

Radar does love Anna June's messy dinner time, though! AJ has been eating rice cereal very well. This week, we mixed it with bananas for the first time. She didn't know what to think at first, but I think she ended up liking it. We started feeding her in her high chair, although she can't completely sit up on her own yet. She's fussier at dinner time now, having to work so hard to stay upright, but I'm not breaking my back feeding her in my lap...it's a trade off.

Last Wednesday, we went to the cardiologist for a re-check on her heart murmur. He couldn't hear it anymore, but did see a very tiny hole on the ultrasound. He said for her to come back when she's three, and he expects it will be completely grown closed. She still isn't quite 27 inches long, but had gained a little and weighed 14 pounds, 8 ounces.

In other news, we bought a car. Smurfette, my Cavalier, retired after 10.5 years of service to me. The new car, a silver 2008 Kia Spectra, works great and has good mileage, safety features and air conditioning. Ben's work is pretty much not air-conditioned, so he's glad to have a car with A/C again in the Alabama heat. As for me, my boss got laid off, but I got promoted, so work right now is full of mixed blessings. But nobody cares about the grownups! Show us the baby!

Here is a link to some more recent pictures. She had others made on Saturday at Aunt Connie's birthday party, and when my friend Ruth (the photographer) came over, but I don't have those yet. Enjoy!
