Wedding Mania

Rusty and Beth's wedding went great. For not having a wedding planner or coordinator, they did very well. The hairdresser was late getting started, and therefore the ceremony was late getting started, but everyone was a good sport. The musicians kept playing, the guests stayed hydrated from a brilliantly inspired water cooler. Friends are still talking about what a good time they had.

For her part, Anna June was an angel during the ceremony. She only had one little "Amen" to say when the pastor was giving the benediction. Then she ate and fell asleep, so we went on to the reception. She woke up when we took her out of the carrier for family photos. It was all downhill from there, as it was getting on toward time for our bathtime/bedtime routine.

All in all, everyone had a good time.

Rolling, rolling, rolling!

Yesterday, Anna June rolled from her stomach to her back all by herself. We were sure it would happen soon...the doctor predicted it would be before she was 4 months old, and he was right. She's so strong. None of the other babies in her class at daycare are rolling yet, and two of them are older than AJ.

This past week was also Rusty and Beth's wedding. It was also very exciting. Here is a link to some pictures of the family and baby. I didn't get any of the wedding party on the wedding day, as we were preoccupied with making sure the baby was content during the ceremony and reception. She was an angel at the church! She ate, and then fell asleep for the first part of the reception. We took her out of her carrier for the professional family photos, though, and that was the beginning of the end...we had to leave as they were cutting the cake because nothing was going to calm her down, not even her granddaddy.

Here are the pictures.

I hope you have a good week!

Maybe I was wrong

The folks at daycare say Anna June is fine! No cold has really developed. I did catch another baby coughing, though, and that worries me. But she seems ok. We'll keep an eye on her for possible ear infection. Sylvia, our pediatrician's nurse/family friend, referred to having frequent childhood ear infections as "having ears". "Did you have ears when you were little?" she asked me. Why, yes, I did. And I had frequent ear infections, too.

Sylvia also told me at Rusty's wedding that she thought I was such a good, laid back, calm mother, like my mom. She is so sweet, but I told her I didn't really feel that way. If I'm calm, I'd hate to see the other mothers! She probably thinks I'm so easy going because when we go to the doctor, AJ is just screaming and I can't really hear her, so I'm just smiling and nodding until we can go.

First cold

AJ is coming down with her first cold. This is very sad for us. Last night she screamed for an hour, which seemed like several hours. A bath calmed her down, but only temporarily. She didn't really have a fever, but she was uncomfortable. It was hard to go through. Hopefully, tonight will be better.

At Nathan's Birthday/Pool Party

Here are a couple of pictures of AJ in the water at her friend Nathan's 1 year old birthday/pool party last weekend. Nathan really likes the water and was in a float and playing with his daddy and other friends for quite a while, but AJ wasn't sure about the whole thing... Plus she didn't have sunscreen on, since she's just 3 months old, so this was a very short dip in the pool. (We lost her hat just before she was ready to go in, so Nathan's parents graciously borrowed AJ one of Nathan's).
